Welcome to Woobbi, where modern design meets the nostalgic warmth of classic wool craftsmanship. Based in the heart of Austin, Texas, we are a slow-fashion brand dedicated to bringing you high-quality, sustainable, and handcrafted wool treasures.

We believe that the best objects tell a story. Ours is a story of global collaboration, connecting the creative spirit of Austin with the heritage skills of master artisans abroad. Whether it’s a whimsical bag charm, a cozy magnet, or a huggable plush, every Woobbi piece is designed to bring a spark of joy and a touch of comfort to your daily life.

Felting vs. Knitting

Understanding the Craft

At Woobbi, we specialize in two distinct, time-honored wool techniques. While both use natural wool, the results look and feel very different.

Needle-Felted Wool Sculpture

The Technique: This is the art of "painting with wool." Artisans use special barbed needles to repeatedly poke loose wool fibers. This agitates the fibers, causing them to lock together and become dense.

The Result: A solid, structural, 3D sculpture with a smooth, felted texture. This technique allows for incredible detail, making it perfect for our intricate charms and magnets.

The Vibe: Artistic, detailed, and firm to the touch.

Wool Yarn Knitted Plush

The Technique: This involves using knitting needles to create interlocking loops of spun wool yarn. It is a textile construction method that creates a flexible fabric.

The Result: A soft, squishy, and huggable texture. This is the classic "sweater" feel, used for our larger plushes and soft accessories.

The Vibe: Cozy, nostalgic, and soft.

Designed & Finished in Austin

Every concept starts here. We sketch, prototype, and finalize the modern designs that make Woobbi unique. Once the crafted pieces arrive, we handle the final assembly, quality checks, and eco-friendly packaging right here in our Austin studio.

Handcrafted by Artisans

We partner with a specific collaborating studio in China, where talented artisans bring our designs to life. These are not mass-produced factory items; they are handcrafted by skilled wool sculpture artisans and knit artisans who are paid fairly for their intricate work.

Our Commitment

We strictly adhere to slow fashion principles. We produce in small batches to eliminate waste, ensure the highest quality, and treat every single piece as a work of art rather than a commodity.

Sustainability & Eco-Friendly Materials

We are committed to protecting the planet that provides us with our materials.

Natural Materials: Wool is a renewable, biodegradable, and durable resource. Unlike synthetic plastics that last forever in landfills, our wool products are kind to the earth.

Eco-Packaging: Our final assembly in Austin utilizes minimal, plastic-free, or recycled packaging materials to lower our carbon footprint.

Curious About Woobbi?

More About Our Craft

    Where are Woobbi products made?

We operate on a hybrid "Austin-Global" model. All Woobbi products are designed, finished, quality-checked, and packaged right here in our Austin studio. The initial crafting of the raw wool is performed by master artisans in our collaborating studio in China, who specialize in heritage needle-felting and knitting techniques. This partnership allows us to support ethical craftsmanship globally while maintaining strict quality control locally.

What is the difference between your "Sculptures" and "Plushes"?

It comes down to the technique and texture!

Needle-Felted Sculptures: These are made by poking wool fibers until they lock together, creating a firm, solid, and highly detailed 3D shape.

Knitted Plushes: These are crafted using spun wool yarn and knitting needles, resulting in a soft, squishy, and huggable fabric texture.

    Is Woobbi considered "Slow Fashion"?

Absolutely. We reject the "fast fashion" model of mass production and waste. We produce in small batches, ensuring that every single piece is treated as art rather than a commodity. By using natural, biodegradable wool and designing for longevity, we create products meant to be cherished for years, not discarded after a season.

    Are the materials eco-friendly?

Yes. Our primary material is natural wool, which is a renewable, biodegradable, and sustainable resource. Unlike synthetic polyester toys that contribute to microplastic pollution, wool is kind to the planet. We also strive to use plastic-free or recycled materials in our Austin-based packaging process.
